about

In this dynamic follow up to his 2013 surprise hit world music debut, Deane Ogden dives deep into the rapturous and melodic rhythms of South Africa with KWELA. Written and recorded in Johannesburg and Cape Town (utilizing his signature method of "backpack" mobile recording), Ogden has fashioned a fluid and harmonious synthesis of South African textures, funk-oriented grooves, perfect pop sensibilities, and detailed percussion.
